Have a table of guests who don’t speak English? Bring samples of food to the table to facilitate communication. A smile and pointing to something overcomes the language barrier. Use body language:
- waive hand and point for a spicy item
- rub your tummy to signal tasty items
- use the OK sign
- use your hands to demonstrate size of menu item or plate
A little creativity can go a long way. Your guests with have a great experience and be grateful for your efforts – hopefully thanking you with a good tip!
