New York continues to change its laws to promote NY craft beverage manufacturers and retailers. New laws are on the horizon. Let’s look at what to expect in 2016:

A new law will allow restaurants and bars to sell alcoholic beverages at 10 am on Sundays. In addition, these licensees cannot apply for a permit, limited to twelve per year, to sell alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises on Sundays between 8 a.m. and the new 10 a.m. opening hour in areas outside New York City.

A new law will allow liquor stores to sell gift wrapping and gift bags to their customers.

Alternating premises where craft beverage producers use the same facilities to produce more than one type of alcoholic beverage will soon be able to file and renew just one application for state licensure.

Wineries will soon be able to fill their customer’s growlers with wine. In addition, the agreement authorizes wineries and farm wineries to allow customers to take home partially finished bottles of wine.
