According to the complaint being proposed as a class action suit, when customers ordered food through the Grubhub app, they were shown different delivery charges than they were ultimately charged. The customer complains it is deceptive advertising. It appears that there is stated delivery fee on the app but when you go to place your order, that fee may be adjusted upwardly for certain restaurants and this allegedly not disclosed to the purchaser in advance of placing the order.
The take-away here is to test your website and mobile apps, especially if you update menus or pricing. Be sure they correctly apply discounts, coupons, sales tax and delivery charges. Improper calculations can be a headache if you don’t test before launch.
