Anyone who has had to deal with the U.S. immigration system understands that it is practically incomprehensible and far from perfect. Because immigration is such a hot topic in social, political and religious debate, it is hard to determine the real issues and their causes and effects. An article titled “Chasing the Dream” by G.M. Jilisko in the May 2012 ABA Journal seeks to give factual perspective on the main immigration issues by using documented sources and expert knowledge. The article hopes to demystifying the immigration system so that policy discussions can happen that may lead to consensus on positive reform.
