A new craft beverage producer produced two varieties of hard cider. It wondered if the State Liquor Authority would accept a label that had preprinted information on the label for the manufacturer, alcohol content, ingredients (apples and yeast) and volume of contents, but would have a blank line where they hand wrote which of the two varieties was in the container. An unusual request, but the cost of label printing was an expense this start-up was seeking to minimize. The Authority’s Brand Label Examiner advised us that this would be acceptable.
