Counsel for the New York State Liquor Authority, advised me in writing that there is no restriction against selling wine or liquor below wholesale prices nor is there a restriction on use of the word “free” in your sales and marketing.
With increased enforcement activity, we want to remind you of the records that must be maintained for the liquor/wine store and be available on site for inspection:
- Corporate books
- Payroll records
- Bank statements
- Check registers
- Copies of checks
- Tax returns
- Invoices for alcohol purchases
- Invoices or sales records (your revenue)
- Invoices, bills, receipts and account statements for your expenses
