Canada welcomes business related tourism and tries to facilitate the process for visitors coming to Canada for business related purposes such as conferences, trade shows, training and research. In fact, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has regional coordinators to assist event planners and coordinate border-related requirements in partnership with other Canadian government departments and agencies including border crossing and admissibility requirements. They can also guide event organizers on import and export requirements, eligibility for special entitlements and whether duties and taxes must be paid for event related supplies entering and leaving Canada in association with the event. Your participants in your event may be entitled to certain exemptions based on his or her level of participation in the event. The regional coordinator can help with these border crossing issues.
