US Trademark Office proposed to reduce trademark application filing and renewal fees for trademark owners who use electronic filings and receive only email correspondence from the Trademark Office.  The fee reduction is aimed at incentivizing applicants to use all electronic filing and communication, something that will increase efficiency at the Trademark office.  If the price reduction is put into effect, the new fees will be:

• $275 per class for Section 1 or 44 Trademark application
  • Down from $325
• $225 per class for TEAS Plus applications
  • Down from $275
• $300 per class for renewal
  • Down from $400
